A walk in the Park

I followed her
Through
the damp
Mud strewn
footpaths
Around
the lakeside

She sang
to herself
the words
Flew across
the space
Between us
Half heard
Because
Of
the wind
In
The
trees

What
she sang
Was
Unimportant
It was
the
Sounds
That
Showed her
Love

Her body
Had
Become alive
Feelings
Hidden deep
inside
Had
Awakened
and
Even

though
I was
behind her
I knew
She
was smiling
And
the
The smile
She smiled
Was
For
me
